Lynne LaComfora
Accompanist
Lynne LaComfora, accompanist, began her career
playing the organ at St. Joseph’s Church
in Worcester at age 9. As a teenager she helped
her mother with her organist duties at Our Lady
of Lourdes Church in Millbury. She went on to
graduate from Anna Maria College with a degree
in piano performance. She was awarded first prize
in the New England Young Artist Competition as
an undergraduate.
Although principally a pianist,
she has served as organist for several small churches
in the Central MA area. She also holds a Massachusetts
Teaching Certificate and has worked in the public
schools of several Massachusetts towns as a music
teacher.
In addition to her full time teaching job and
her work with the Salisbury Singers, she has freelanced
as accompanist for many years performing recitals
for the voice students of Ruth Cooper as well
as other engagements such as accompanist for the
Blackstone Valley Chorus, the Central District
Chorus of MA and the National OAKE (Organization
of American Kodaly Educators) Convention in Boston.
She also accompanied the Salisbury Lyric Opera’s
production of “Amahl and the Night Visitors”
for several years.
LaComfora has also worked as accompanist
for several local musical theater productions,
most recently Worcester County Light Opera’s
production of “1776” and many productions
for the theater department at St. John’s
High School in Shrewsbury and Bancroft School
in Worcester.
She has been music director/pianist
for many musicals at Millbury High School, a town
where she taught music for many years and from
which she has recently retired. In addition she
worked as music director/pianist for Booth Productions
both at Holy Name High School and at Booth’s
summer program in Worcester and Ogunquit, ME for
several years.
LaComfora is married to Jerry LaComfora.
Together they have 3 children and 6 grandchildren,
who are a great source of delight to them both.
She has been on staff with the Salisbury Singers
for more than 30 years, a position she enjoys
and treasures.
