The Salisbury Singers, founded in 1973, is a premier community chorus in greater Worcester County. Under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Michelle Graveline, the chorus has expanded to more than 80 singers. Performances have included Bach’s Magnificat and Mass in B Minor, Brahms’s Requiem, Haydn Creation, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Handel’s Dettingen Te Deum, and many other masterworks.  The chorus has also been featured in concert the last three years at Holidays at WAM (Worcester Art Museum).  As part of the greater Worcester community, the chorus has sung at various civic events such as the tenth anniversary 9/11 commemoration, local sports events, and the Massachusetts Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Green Hill Park in Worcester.

The Salisbury Singers is a dues-paying, non-profit community chorus that holds open auditions in all voice parts twice each season. Our season typically begins on the first Monday after Labor Day and runs through May or June depending on our performance commitments. Rehearsals begin in September at Trinity Lutheran Church, 73 Lancaster Street, Worcester, on Monday evenings from 7:15 to 9:45 p.m.

join-chorusAuditions are required and can be scheduled by contacting Dr. Graveline at mgraveli@assumption.edu. You will be voice tested for quality and range and you will be asked to demonstrate your sight-reading ability. Our membership includes schoolteachers and college professors, managers, area professionals, homemakers, ministers and recent college graduates. We place a strong emphasis on the social aspect of our endeavors giving you an opportunity to meet interesting people who share your passion for choral singing.

We hold Open Rehearsals the first two weeks in September and January each season, affording you the opportunity to sit in on a few rehearsals and check us out. We’re confident that once you do, you’ll decide to make the musical journey with us as we learn new music together and share our musical gifts with the people of Worcester County and beyond. If singing is not your forte but experiencing wonderful choral concerts is,then send us an e-mail info@salisburysingers.org to that effect and we’ll put you on our E-Mailing List. You will be notified in advance of our upcoming performances and how you may obtain tickets. Better still, consider becoming a Member of Salisbury Singers, Inc. Not only will you be reinforcing your appreciation and support for great choral music performed at reasonable prices but you will be entitled to certain benefits reserved for our Members.
